Introducing the book “Nakshatra Darshanam” (నక్షత్ర దర్శనం)

Nakshatra Darshanam is an anthology of poems written by eminent actor and poet Mr. Tanikella Bharani. In this book, the poet wrote about the current and yesteryears stalwarts of film industry, and other prominent people of different fields in the society. He wrote on people who influenced him and the persons he liked most.

While writing on NT Rama Rao, the poet mentions the early rising habit of NTR and his discipline. The poet equates the voice of S.V. Ranga Rao with that of gushing river Godavari and his acting skill with the vastness of Indian Ocean. The poet says that the great actress Savitri is eternal and is the female personification of Nataraja.

While talking of Bhanumati, the poet says that though she appears as aggressive as Bhadrakali, she was equally pacific as Bharati. He also says that she was a lady hero. While writing about M. S. Subbulakshmi, he gives a different denotation to the acronyms of M.S. He says that M. S. means Mangala Swaram, M. S. means mesmerism. No one can contradict this statement.

The poet compares both Viswanatha and SriSri and concludes those both were great and pays respects to both of them with folded hands. Though their paths are different, both were truly scholars. “While playing violin he goes into a trance, and we unite with the violin” says Bharani about Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu.

“If Srirangam Srinivasa Rao is Sri Sri, Gudipati Venkatachalam is Stree Stree” says the poet humorously. While mentioning about Dasarathi, the poet says that his pen not only writes classical songs, but also can fire whenever required. The poet laments that Dasarathi did not get the prestigious Jnanapith Award.

The poet depicts the way Akkineni Nageswara Rao raised up in the film industry very well. He says that the hard work is essential for success.

Bharani wrote small, but beautiful poems on Chiranjeevi, Brahmanandam, Rekha, Charlie Chaplin, Gurudutt, Relangi, Allu Ramalingiah, Suryakantham, Ramana Reddy, Raghavendra Rao, Jandhyala, Ghantasala, P. Suseela, Jesudas, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, and other personalities of movie industry.

In one of the poem, the poet compares Bapuji (Mahatma Gandhi) with Bapu (Movie Director).

Bharani also wrote about the eminent artists like Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Ravi Shankar and Kannakudi Vaidyanathan and paid his respects for their talent.

The poet portrayed the greatness of authors and literary personalities like Devulapalli Krishna Sastri, Sri Sri, Arudra, Veturi Sunadara Rammurthi, Jaaladi, C. Narayana Reddy, Paruchuri Brothers etc. in his verses.
